Environmental Release Regulations

These regulations were published in the month of August and year 2011 and cover activities involving release of GMOs into the environment, placing on the market and during commercialization.

The objective of the regulations is to ensure that potential adverse effects of genetically modified  organisms are addressed so as  to protect human health and the environment when conducting environmental release- availing GM products for use by the public. These regulations have been put in place in preparation for GMO commercial release.
